This weekend has some great PC games on sale! Today we will go over 6 of the games on sale you will definitely want.
You can also pick up the free paid games that are still available. (this post will be updated on Thursday).
PC Games On Sale
before there was Dying Light, Techland made Dead Island and Dead Island Riptide. The Dead Island games almost serve as a prototype that evolved into Dying Light.
Dead Island Riptide doesn’t feature the fun Parkour and odd physics that Dying Light has, but it’s premise is similar.
Survive against zombies and craft, or find, everything you need. While not as good as some modern games, Dead Island Riptide is still a good time. Well worth it for under $5.
Dead Island is also on sale for under $5. For less than $10 you can start preparing yourself for when Dead Island 2 comes out.
Both games can run on low end systems, toasters, or an outdated pizza oven. Get these pc games on sale now!
Jade Empire published by Bioware and released for PC and Xbox 360 in 2005. This was at the same time that Bioware was released Mass Effect and Knights of the Old Republic.
The PC version had a couple advantages over the Xbox version. The PC Version aloud for faster load times if the hardware was decent (almost any PC today would be considered high end hardware for this game). There were also more fighting styles in the PC version than the Xbox version.
Jade Empire is an action RPG in which you “Step into the role of an aspiring martial-arts master and follow the path of the open palm or the closed fist.”
It has an amazing story that easily still feels relevant in 2022. While the graphics are slightly dated, the story and gameplay more than make up for it.
Although lesser known, Jade Empire is every bit as good as Mass Effect or Knights of the Old Republic and Right now it’s around the same price as a happy meal. It is well worth the time it takes to play it.
If you have trouble running it or it seems buggy, run it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista. Fixes 99% of problems people have had with this game.
If you enjoy racing sims like Dirt Rally then you will most likely love WRC 8. WRC 8 is the good starting play in the WRC series. It’s graphics, gameplay, and career mode are greatly improved over prior WRC Games.
Compared to Dirt Rally 2 WRC has a better career mode but much less realistic physics. Graphics wise they games are similar in quality.
WRC also includes Steams Remote Play Together so you can race with friends whether they own the game or not.
I mostly play arcade styled racers (Need for Speed) but I have greatly enjoyed WRC. The career mode is one of the better ones I have seen in a racing sim. This is one of the PC Game Deals at a historic low, and I recommend picking it up at this low price. Even at $18 it would be a great deal.
I laughed hysterically when I heard Far: Lone Sails described as a vehicle adventure game. While that is accurate, that is a very simplified description of the game.
In Far: Lone Sails you sail a hybrid sale boat (gas and wind) while the game puts you into nerve wrecking almost impossible situations you have to get out of.
The game, as well as the soundtrack, are absolutely beautiful. You have to solve some very complicated puzzles to keep your ship in one piece.
The game is very relaxing, but not boring. It’s hard to express the level or type of fun you have while going through the levels.
I highly recommend this as one of the PC games on sale to get (no pun intended). It is a great game to relax and enjoy after a stressful day.
Northgard is RTS set in a Viking settlement. It’s like the RTS version of Valheim. In Northgard you have 6 clans to choose from, and 11 campaign missions.
I have not played Northgard yet, but I am picking it up while it’s on this sale. I love RTS and from all the reviews I’ve read, Northgard seems well worth it.
Between Crysis 1 and 2, there was Crysis Warhead. Like the original, Crysis Warhead is set in a beautiful open world with graphics that still hold up today.
Crysis Warhead shares the same open world and gameplay characteristics of the original. Crysis Warhead’s story is much weaker than the original, but the gameplay is just as fun.
Luckily Warhead followed the path of Crysis 1 and not Crysis 2. If you enjoy a good open world shooter, Crysis Warhead won’t let you down.
Summary of Today's PC Games On Sale
While I still miss a month ago when almost every PC game was at a historic low, there are some great deals this weekend. I’m actually really looking forward to play Northgard, and picked up Crysis Warhead and Jade Empire since I’ve only played them on Xbox.
